music, take one.

Almost two years ago, when it was neat-mosquito to post notes on Facebook (yes..I realize some still think it is) I posted a note titled, "i'll be fine, i swear...i'm just gone beyond repair".

Here it is::

The Rules: Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen albums that you've heard that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall, but no more than fifteen.  Tag fifteen friends including me, because i'm interested in seeing what albums my friends choose. (To do this go to your notes tab on your profile page, paste rules in a new note, cast your fifteen picks, and tag people in the note.)

Quickly, and in no particular order.

1. Forever the Sickest Kids - Underdog Alma Mater
2. Mayday Parade - A Lesson in Romantics
3. Los Campesinos - Hold on Now youngsters
4. There for Tomorrow - A Little Faster
5. Ludo - You're Awful, I Love You
6. Panic! At the Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out (For you, Ian)
7. Matt & Kim - Grand
8. Karate High School - Arcade Rock
9. Pierce the Veil - A Flair For The Dramatic
10. A Rocket To The Moon - On Your Side
11. You Me and Everyone We Know - Party for the Grown and Sexy
12. Weezer - Make Believe
13. Freshman 15 - Throw Up Your Hands for One Night Stands
14. Fall Out Boy - From Under The Cork Tree
15. Bamf! - This Means WAR!

What I love about this note, is that I am still completely in love with all of these albums. Not to say that my music choices haven't evolved, because they definitely have but these are perfect "go-to" albums for every mood. For example,

  • FTSK is the most perfect, wonderful happy music. You know, that "singing like a fool and dancing like a crazy person while driving down the road" kind of music.
  • Mayday Parade is by far, my number one. I discovered them way back when MySpace was still the "it" place to be and away for my first semester of college, okay, maybe MySpace wasn't the "it" place to be then. Anyway, they're amazing and my perfect mellow, (usually depressed) go-to music.
  • Los Campesinos - another perfect "dancing crazy in the car" band.
  • There for Tomorrow - meh, I'll be honest here...I posted this note right after I saw TFT with Mayday Parade and went on a bit of a high with them which quickly turned into a mid range like. (moving on...)
  • Ludo - Moving from Iowa to St. Louis I've encountered many things. St. Louis style pizza is awful. BUT, Ludo....now, they're amazing.
  • Panic at the Disco is the background music to every memory from the summer before my senior year of high school. I love those songs you hear that take you directly back to one specific moment in time.
  • Matt & Kim...seriously, if you haven't heard of them go listen. They speak for themselves.
  • Karate High School - another "mehh" pick. They're good, the seasoning just wore off.
  • Pierce the Veil - Music + Lyrics = love.
  • A Rocket to the Moon - Honestly, another band I was obsessed with after seeing. I pull them out every once in a while for some Annabelle action...but rarely.
  • You Me and Everyone We Know - Spring Break 2008 and acquiring the nickname Cupcake. Enough said.
  • Weezer - Don't even act like you didn't jam out to Beverly Hills.
  • Freshman 15 - Third concert I ever attended, the lead singer made eyes at me. (I swear) I'll never forget him.
  • Fall Out Boy - While I hate they're last two albums, and am convinced they're what let to their demise, I will forever be in love with they're early work.
  • BAMF! - another great St. Louis/St. Peters find. They've been off the grid lately since they're trumpet player and singer left, but they're still around. (First band tee purchase)

This was like, an epic idea when i was formulating it in my head earlier...and now I don't know what to write anymore...On a side note, I've been listening to We Are Young by Fun on repeat. Go listen.

Also, I had to write a blog for my Internet Marketing class last semester, which I'm sure you all want to rush over and read...9 posts, and has 118 views. I don't know who read it (other than my professor and Julie) but hey, thanks.

(and this my friends...is why it is untitled.)
